IndieMundo.com 2010 Relaunch

Update #5: A majority of the flash interface has been completed! Now I am working on some important features like upload albums, messaging, and following features! Be ready! :D

Update #3: Working hard or hardly working? I have been working on the new flash interface a bunch, unfortunatley, it still requires a ton of work. But here is a picture of what has been developed so far. [Picture]

Update #2: I have added a feature to the new features list that will be added in our new interface. This is the artist store feature, which will allow artist to sell promotional items. The new interface is in the process of being built and is coming along nicely.

Update #1: Hey guys, a major update here. I have decided that trying to relaunch in January 2010 would be near impossible. Therefore, I have pushed the date back (tentatatively) to April 2010. There is so much new stuff I want to add to the site, and so much I have to learn to do it, that I will need at least those extra 4 months. The new site and flash design are coming along nicely, however. Keep watching for updates!

IndieMundo.com will relaunch no earlier than Summer 2010 with a brand new flash-based interface (website). IndieMundo will be available during the period before the new relaunch. The new site will include many new features for musicians and their fans (listed below). It will be necessary for your computer to have flash installed to use the new website (to learn about flash, go to flash.com). We do not have a finalized date on the exact day we will relaunch, but as we get nearer, we will let you know. IndieMundo will still be an entirely FREE website to use. If you would like to recommend new features or have any ideas about IndieMundo that you'd like to share with us, please email Spencer at spencer@indiemundo.com.

New features to be added/updated (Crossed out features are done!):
  • Twitter integration
    You will be able to automatically post your twitter updates to IndieMundo.com (if you have a Twitter account). If you don't use Twitter, you will be able to use IndieMundo's own system (similar to Twitter).
  • Follow Artists
    Fans will be able to follow artist's. You will receive updates (status and new music) on your home page.
  • New design
    IndieMundo will have a completely new design which will provide for the optimal use of the site and ease of access.
  • New Music Player
    The new music player will be fully integrated with IndieMundo allowing for optimal playing of your music.
  • Playlists
    You will be able to create playlists and easily edit these lists.
  • Stand Alone Player
    You will be able to launch IndieMundo in a stand alone mode so that you don't have to keep your internet browser open.
  • Profile Options
    There will be new profile options and easily accessible and more useful profiles.
  • Artist Store
    Artist will be able to sell promotion items through an online store.
  • Flash Interface
    Using flash will make page refresh/reload unnecessary. It will be easier to navigate the website and you will be able to easily search music while listening to music.
  • Community
    IndieMundo will become more community oriented with open forums and chat areas.
  • Old Interface
    The old text-interface will be retired and brought up to date for use as a substitute for the flash interface.
